Welcome to "In The Looop" by Well Aware!
Well Aware's weekly* (we try) Networking Newsletter!
The #1 goal of this newsletter is to foster more conscientious networking.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please refer to the following for how to best use our networking newsletter:
1. Please reply to me with your interest in any relationships I share.
If you want to meet one of the people below, all you have to do is ask.
2. Please reply with a clear reason why you want to connect with someone.
In order to connect you, I need context so that I can make a thoughtful intro.
3. Please feel free to reply to me even if you have NO interest in anyone.
Say hi! Catch me up on what you need. Point being: Please keep in touch.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After being in business for awhile, you start to see your fair share of newsletters, and boy are there a lot of them!
Though some newsletters are incredibly valuable from a content education perspective, others are not so relevant, at least to me!
And that sucks, because in some cases, I want to keep in touch with the relationships that are behind those newsletters!
When I started scratching my head around the kind of weekly content I wanted to share via email with my network, I dwelled a lot on whether I should be providing knowledge on Well Aware, our VAs, my operational prowess, and whatever the company was up to...
But I immediately felt that emotion I've had with so many other newsletters, and ultimately, I wanted a newsletter that my entire network would want to read in order to keep in touch with us, regardless of their interest in Well Aware's affairs.
At some point, the idea hit me:
Everybody's networking.
Countless 1-on-1s, networking groups, events...
We are all looking for our next client, partner, provider, and yet that individual experience isn't being shared with everyone else we know, like, and trust.
And why not?
With that in mind, I decided to test out how my network would respond to this idea that outside of any other conversations we might be having, every week, I would organize a list of all the relationships I've been in contact with, and share about them via a weekly networking newsletter.
My thought process revolved around this idea of "keeping people in the loop" with how my networking was going. From that, I decided to name this newsletter "In the Looop"! The extra "o" represents me as the link between any 2 people (the other "o"s) in my network whom I may be connecting as a result of these efforts.
To me, the newsletter has been successful in helping to keep in touch with much of my network without bothering them about my company's focus inherently (I still put out my own networking asks at the bottom of each newsletter - I figure its only fair!).
Alas, my goal with this newsletter is to iterate on its design and performance, namely by studying its readership, reply rate, and so on.
Thank you for joining me on this journey!
Sincerely,
Conrad Ruiz | CEO | Well Aware Inc.
